50cc Oil Injected

Sound Limit Rule: Posted 5/4/07
AMA sound levels will be met and tested for at all KC Race Promotions Friday night events.
Motorcycles and ATVs must meet sound limits of 99 dB/a measured on the “A” scale at 20 inches.
To avoid confusion, the same test procedure will be used as the AMA and AMA’a District 23.


NOTE:
Any changes, additions or deletions to these rules that occur during the period these rules are in effect will be posted on the web-site and be printed for viewing at the track.  An attempt will be made to make all members and competitors aware of changes two weeks before they are effective.  It shall be each rider's responsibility to know these rules.  In cases where a rule determination is not defined in these rules, the decision of the KC Race Promotions official or race manager will be final.  Entrants, Riders and Participants are required to know and understand the rules and regulations which cover a KC Race Promotions event and are (By reason of their entry) definitely bound by such rules and regulations.  Each participant in competition has the responsibility to assess the safety aspects of the track facilities and conditions and MUST assume the risk of competition.

GENERAL RULES FOR COMPETITION

In order for a rider to earn points, he/she must have completed at least 50% of the main event in that class on that day.  You may see the points system on our rules page.  We will be counting 75% of the events held.  In order for a rider to be eligible for year end awards, he/she must be entered in not less than 60% of the events held in 2008.   Year end awards will go back to 10th place in all classes.  For the Faircross Series we will be counting 100% of the events held. In order for a rider to be eligible for year end awards, he/she must be entered in not less than 60% of the events held in 2008. Year end awards will also go back to 10th place in all classes.

1.  One bike may be entered by two or more riders for other events within the same bike classification by paying the additional entry fee.
2.  No one except riders officially entered may ride or practice on the race course during the day's events.
3.  If a rider leaves the course during the race for any reason and then decides to resume the race, he must re-enter at the point of exit before another lap may be counted in his favor.  IF IT IS UNSAFE OR IMPOSSIBLE to re-enter at his point of exit, he must re-enter at the safest possible place which is closest to his exit as possible without improving his position.
4.  If a moto must be stopped because one or more riders is obstructing the progress of that moto, that rider(s) will not be allowed to continue in the re-start of that moto unless allowed by the race manager.
5.  There will be no re-starts unless it is the opinion of the Race Officials or the First Aid Attendants that it will endanger the participants involved or if there is a malfunction in the start gate or some interference as determined by the race manager.
6.  If for any reason the race must be stopped, It will be considered completed if over 50% of the race has been run.
7.  Any foul riding, unnecessary bumping, crowding, lack of caution, course cutting or other unsportsmanlike conduct at the race event is grounds for disqualification or penalty as determined by the KC Race Promotions race manager.
8.  KC Race Promotions officials are not responsible to locate riders for their events.  THE RIDER MUST BE AT THE START LINE FOR HIS/HER EVENT.
9.  Non-Participant Rule - No person may remain with in 10ft. behind the start line 10 seconds prior to the gate dropping or the starter tells you to move.
10.  KC Race Promotions officials will not be responsible for any occurrence that results in "Back to Back" motos for a rider who enters multiple classes.  The rider's representative must notify officials of that occurrence and be available at the start area for consultation.
11.  No one rider or his representative will be allowed to hold or station himself in a preferred position on the starting line in advance of his moto.  No practice starts in advance of a moto will be allowed unless approved by the start line official.
12.  All riders must have ankle or higher boots, proper fitting full face helmets, must be BUCKLED (DOT Approved minimum), goggles and full arm and leg coverage.
13.  In all Mini Quad classes, and bike classes of 85cc and smaller, riders must also wear Chest protectors, knee pads, and gloves.
14.  Officials observe the right to prevent anyone from competing in any event if the rider or bike does not comply with the rules.
15.  THE RIDER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF HIS PARENTS, TUNERS, OR ANYONE ELSE ASSOCIATED WITH HIM.  KC Race Promotions reserves the right to refuse entry or participation to anyone including the right to enter the property where the event is being presented whether the participant, parent or anyone deemed by KC Race Promotions as associated with the same.
16.  Any verbal harassment to officials will be grounds for permanent disqualification for those riders or parties involved.  Any physical abuse to officials will be grounds for permanent disqualification of the rider and allowable for notice by KC Race Promotions to all other race associations of the occurrence.
17.  No soliciting or distributing of literature or products will be allowed at KC Race Promotions' events without prior approval from KC Race Promotions management.
18.  All machines are subject to KC Race Promotions impound evaluation or teardown if decided by the KC Race Promotions race manager that a particular bike of their interest needs further evaluation.  Failure to submit a machine for official inspection will result in disqualification of that machine for the day and no points or prizes will be awarded.
19.  Penalties and Protests.  All protests whether of rider, machine or rule violation, must clearly state in writing which part of parts or rule violation is being protested.  All protests must be signed by the rider submitting the protest.  A.  The signed protest must be accompanied with a cash fee and must be presented to the race management before the race class' main event being protested is concluded.  B.  The party declaring a protest is required to post a protest fee with the event referee of $100.00.  C.  KC Race Promotions officials will not be responsible for re-assembling protested machines.  D.  If the machine is found to be of legal configuration for the class, the protested rider will be awarded the entire protest fee.  If the machine is found to be of illegal configuration for the class, the protesting party will be awarded the entire protest fee, the protested rider will forfeit the trophy for the event, all points for the season, and the protested machine will be moved to the proper class for the remainder of the season.  A protested machine will not be torn down or evaluated in any manner which would be detrimental to its function in between motos; that is, machines that are protested may be impounded by a race official until the completion of that machines racing activity.  Failure to submit a machine for impound will result in disqualification.  All tear-downs will be witnessed by the machine owner only & technicians designated by KC Race Promotions with KC Race Promotions officials.  Protests on rider's age or classification will not be taken after the first round of motos is complete.  Only riders in the same class may declare a protest.
20.  If for some reason the final decision on a protest is in question, the participant involved or his representative may submit their position in writing on the matter within 10 days to the KC Race Promotions main office for further investigation.
21.  Proof of age: original birth certificate or Drivers License will be accepted as proof of age.  PROOF OF AGE MUST BE PROVIDED WITHIN 6 DAYS OF REQUEST to KC Race Promotions. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.
22.  Riders Meeting.  A riders meeting will be held before the start of the day's events.  All riders must be present.  Instructions and information will be given at that time.  No one is allowed to question or contact the race scorers after racing begins unless allowed by race management.  All questions and matters must be resolved at the riders meeting or after the races are completed.
23.  NO REFUNDS OR RAIN CHECKS WILL BE GIVEN ONCE PRACTICE BEGINS.
24.  All trophies, prizes, etc. not picked up on the day of event or designated pick up time by KC Race Promotions will be forfeited if not claimed by the winner or their representative.

NUMBERS AND NUMBER PLATES
All numbers MUST be of standard, block style lettering (No outlines) - Solid black on solid white or solid yellow backgrounds or solid white on solid black backgrounds.  Absolutely no scroll type, wide illeligible numbers will be allowed.  Also NOT allowed are numbers overlapping numbers & numbers which are outlines only.  Numbers must be all one size and placed straight across the number plates.  NUMBERS ONLY ON THE NUMBER PLATES - do not add stickers, decals, etc. unless directed by KC Race Promotions management.  Any number plates which the officials find to be non-readable must be corrected before that machine is allowed to race.  All clothing and/or Chest protectors bearing the rider's number must have the same number as the machine being ridden. Numbers must be on the front and both side panels of the dirt bike and on the front and back number plates of the quads.
 

OFFICIAL FLAGS
Yellow - Danger on track.  Use caution between yellow flag and problem or danger area.  White with Red Cross - Medical staff needed or on track. Green - All clear, continue racing.  White - One lap to go until finish.  Black and White Checkered - Finish, end of race. Blue - You are being lapped.  Allow rider to pass. Black - Pull over and wait for flagman's instruction. Red - Stopping race for any emergency situation

RIDER CLASSIFICATION
It is the duty of the individual rider to determine the class he is legal to ride in.  Entry into a class does not necessarily make you legal for that class.  You can be protested by another entrant or his representative.  Responsibility of meeting proper rider classification and bike specifications rests with the individual entrant.
"C" Classes are for riders who are classified as Novice or "C" and have not raced or are not classified as Intermediate or "B" with any other organization.
"B" Classes are for riders who are classified as Intermediate or "B" and have not raced or are not classified as Pro, Expert, "A", Pro-Am etc. with any other organization.
The Pro class is for riders who race with KC Race Promotions or any other organization as Pro, Expert, "A", "Money", or highest advanced class.
If a rider is competing in the 125 class as a "B" he must also compete in the 250 class as a "B".  A rider cannot change classification from class to class.  Pro riders must ride in Pro or Open classes only.  Pro riders are not allowed to ride in any Mini or 85cc classes.

 

RIDER POINT SYSTEM
Riders who complete over 50% of the required amount of laps in their main event but are unable to take the checkered flag will receive a finish position.  Based on the results of your main event, you will receive points on how you finished in your class.  The final results of a race event will be transposed into the following point system:
1st place - 25pts. 2nd place - 22pts. 3rd Place - 20pts. 4th place - 18pts. 5th place - 16pts. 6th place - 15pts. 7th place - 14pts. 8th place - 13pts. 9th place - 12pts. 10th place - 11pts. 11th place - 10pts. 12th place - 9pts. 13th place - 8pts. 14th place - 7pts. 15th place - 6pts. 16th place - 5pts. 17th place - 4pts. 18th place - 3pts. 19th place - 2pts. 20th place - 1pt.

 

TROPHIES / KC CASH
We trophy 1 for every 3 entries. Maximum to 5th place.
Pro class is for money only - NO TROPHIES and will paid back per moto, 1 for every three entries.  1st place - $50.  2nd place - $40.  3rd place - $30.  4th place - $20.  5th place - $10.
Both 50 classes, Mini Quads and the 65 class automatically trophy to 5th with participation awards for the 50's and Mini Quad 50s.
We will be doing "KC" cash again this year.  For those of you who are tired of trophies or have more than you know what to do with, we will offer you "KC" cash.  Payout will be $6 for 1st, $5 for 2nd, $4 for 3rd, $3 for 4th, and $2 for 5th.   No exceptions please.  These cash certificates may be used at the Brainerd facility only.  They may be used for/toward your gate entry, race entry or any KC Race Promotions merchandise.  It's not redeemable for cash!

 

AGE FREEZE DATES
All rider age groups for the current calendar year will be frozen as of January 1 & through the last race of the season.  Whatever age you are as of January 1 is the age group you will compete in through the final race of the season.
 

NOTES:

A $10 fee per class will be assessed to those requesting any class change.
STARTING PROCEDURES:  NO TOOLS SUCH AS, SHOVELS, RAKES, ETC..   There is NO farming in front of the rear flat metal bar of gate. Please do not dig holes at the starting line for dirt or pile dirt into the gate mechanism. You MUST be IN FRONT of the metal back up pipe. It is your responsibility to know the correct starting procedures. Per rider and machine, only one mechanic allowed in staging. In Brainerd sweeping/cleaning of the cement only is allowed. No dirt work allowed. Dirt may not be purposely placed on cement.
PRACTICE:  The staging area will be used to stage all groups for practice. There is no starting from the sidelines. You must have your armband and / or practice sticker before you will be allowed on the track. There is no riding off course or turning around to retry an area during practice. This is extremely dangerous. You must ride in the practice designated for your bike & skill level that we will assign. Do not ride in the wrong practice.
DIVISIONS:  NO MORE LAST CHANCE RACES. Classes will be divided into Divisions with heat results making up the main and consolation races. Main will pay all points and consi’s will be good for 1st place trophy only. Heats are divided up at random by the computer so you will not be able to decide what race you are in. LUCK OF THE DRAW! Check the posting board for the division you will ride in AND consi if your classes have divisions. THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!!!  If you miss your division race you will NOT be moved or permitted to compete in a different division ... You will have to go directly to the consi ... no exceptions.  The posting board will also tell you how many divisions and the number of riders that will be taken from the division race and put directly into the main event. It will also tell you how many consi races there are for your class.
YELLOW FLAG ~ YELLOW FLAG ~ YELLOW FLAG:
SLOW DOWN!!! There is NO PASSING, NO JUMPING or aggressive riding under/on a yellow flag. Please slow down and use caution, have respect for the downed rider, and authorized persons attempting to assist him. Do not start aggressive racing again until you are at a “safe distance” away. Rescue efforts must be left to authorized officials only on the track. Violators WILL at a minimum, be docked one lap. 
UNDERSTANDING:  If you do NOT understand ANY parts of these rules, please see the event clerk or the race director who will be happy to explain this in terms that you will understand. NO other person (either track personnel or staff) is authorized to interpret or give directives pertaining to any rules contained herein or any other. Understanding and communication will make the experience for you, a positive, fun filled event. Again, if you have any questions or concerns please see the event clerk or track official. MINORS:  Parent, legal guardian or "authorized adult" must complete minor release. In the case of "authorized adult", he/she must provide notarized legal documentation of said authorization of guardianship with minor release to clerk at registration.... Download/print the form HERE This form is in addition to the release required of all riders.  KC Race Promotions, Inc. will retain original said documentation as property owned by them.  Authorized adults should retain a copy for their own records or needs. All persons signing a minor release must remain with said minor until the conclusion of the event or until competition is complete.  All persons signing any release with minor must be prepared to show proof of identity and guardianship.

Quad Rules

MINI QUAD REC. (Ages 4 - 13 years old)
Engine size up to 90cc. Machine must be stock OEM, automatic clutch or auto shift. No expansion chamber race type quads allowed. Must have stock size wheels and tires, although may be aftermarket. Machine must remain stock stance (width/length). No pipe, engine, or suspension changes will be allowed. Tether switch is required. Can change handlebars, tires, wheels, seat, and chain tensioner. Exhaust pipe must come from factory OEM with no modifications and be less than 3” OD from the cylinder to the beginning of the muffler.

Allows for any bolt on modification. Must retain the stock OEM frame matched to OEM engine from the approved list. Can modify engine work, suspension, etc.

1. All riders are required to have a proper fitting full face helmet, must be BUCKLED (DOT Approved minimum), goggles, long sleeve shirt, gloves, chest protector, long pants, knee protection, and ankle supporting boots in every moto and practice.
2. Machines may be used in multiple classes by the same rider provided that both rider and ATV meet the requirements of the class.
3. All engines used in ATV competition must be production model ATV engines or single cylinder production model motorcycle engines available for sale to the general public.
4. (Production Classes) Stock frame and ATV engine cases from the original manufacturer of that make and model must be used. OEM frames may have material added for strength. These changes shall not affect frame geometry. Only bolt on components allowed.
5. All youth riders must fit the ATV. With rider in normal riding position, with hands on handlebars, there must be a bend in the elbows, fingers must reach all control levers. Rider in a standing position on foot pegs must have 3 inches of space between seat and rider inseam.
6. Random equipment inspections may be done at the events, and may include sound, 50 inch width. Displacement may be measured at the end of the race.
7. An engine may be bored or stroked, to change displacement classes, but must not exceed the class limit. Example, 82cc engine may be increased to a maximum of 90cc. There is no overbore allowed, over the class limit. This applies to all classes.
8. All ATV’s must have nerf bars or suitable floorboards, working tether cord, maximum width of 50”, all glass removed, (including all light bulbs).  Control levers must have ball ends, and engine size must be stamped on engine.
9. Transmissions are limited to automatic and auto clutch. No manual clutches allowed with the exception as written.
10. ATVs must not exceed 102db @3,750 rpm.
NUMBER PLATES
All ATVs in competition must have a number plate mounted on the front bumper and rear grab bar and may not be cut down for cosmetic purposes. The numbers shall be a minimum of 6” block numbers (no shading or outlining). Numbers for all quad classes will be black on white number plates with the exception of the mini quad 90 class which will be white numbers on black backgrounds.  No other letters or symbol may be used unless designated for that event by KC Race Promotions (i.e. X,T,N, /,etc.) The number plates may not be mounted to the handlebars for safety.  Wood or metal number plates are not allowed. The top or bottom two inches (Total) of the number plate may be used for sponsor or rider name.
YEAR END AWARDS
To be eligible for year end awards, riders must have scored points in at least 60% of races in the series.  Year end awards are based on 75% of races held.
PROTEST PROCEDURE
Protest Fee.  The party declaring a protest is required to post a protest fee with the event referee of $100.00.  If the machine is found to be of legal configuration for the class, the protested rider will be awarded the entire protest fee.  If the machine is found to be of illegal configuration for the class, the protesting party will be awarded the entire protest fee, the protested rider will forfeit the trophy for the event, all points for the season, and the protested machine will be moved to the proper class for the remainder of the season.  Only riders in the same class may declare a protest.  The only people allowed in the tear-down area are the owner of the quad and the tear-down official.
